Daytrip to Toronto

Niagaran putouksilta on kätevä ajaa Torontoon Ontario-järven rannalle. Toronto-visiitti oli lopulta melko lyhyt ja vierailimme siellä oikeastaan vain Rogers Centressä, joka on Blue Jays -pesisjoukkueen kotistadium. Lisäksi otimme hissin stadiumin viereiseen CN Toweriin (korkeus: 553 m), joka on yksi maailman korkeimpia rakennuksia. Korkeanpaikankammoiselle oli ihan mukava verenpaineet nostattava kokemus nousta lasihissillä ja seisoa polvet tutisten lasilattian päällä. Jari Kurri jäi nyt Hockey Hall of Famessa näkemättä, mutta enköhän elä sen asian kanssa.

It's quite convenient to drive from Niagara Falls to Toronto. We only stayed there for a short while and went to see Rogers Centre, the stadium for Toronto Blue Jays. After that we went up to CN Tower which is one of the highest buildings in the world (555 meters). I'm afraid of heights and had to survive the glass elevator and I even stepped on the glass floor up in the tower. 

Brunssia syötiin Cora-ravintolassa ja ennen Jenkkilään paluuta piipahdettiin Tanger Outleteilla Cookstownissa. Outletissa oli älyttömän huono ruokatarjonta, joten päädyimme maistamaan perinteistä kanadalaista poutinea Harvey's-pikaruokalassa. Poutinessa on ranskalaisia kuorrutettuna kastikkeella ja juustolla. Jäi kyllä syömättä...

We ate brunch at Cora restaurant in Toronto. Before returning to the US, we stopped by at Tanger Outlets in Cookstown. There we tried the traditional Canadian poutine at a fast food restaurant Harvey's. French fries with sauce and cheese - umm, I've had better..
