Disneyland

Supervarhaisille aamuherätyksille olivat yleensä syynä pitemmät päiväretket luonnonpuistoissa, mutta tällä kertaa kiiruhdimme Mikin ja Akun maahan Anaheimin Disneylandiin. Portteja kolisteltiin jo klo 7.30 ja Indiana Jonesin seikkailujuna (ehkä paras huvittelulaite koko puistossa) oli jo klo 8 vallattu. Illemmalla mm. Indiana Jonesiin oli noin tunnin jonot, joten kannatti iskeä ajoissa paikalle. Odotusaika on merkitty jokaisen laitteen portille.

Disneyland tarjosi kevyttä höpöttelyä ja ihan hauskoja huvipuistolaitteita (lue: ei liian rajuja). Parasta antia oli ikivihreäpiirretyistä tuttujen laulujen kuuleminen ja live-esitykset. Ruoka oli kallista ja mitäänsanomatonta (ota eväät!), mutta hups vaan, viihdyimme puistossa yli kellon ympäri ja poistuimme paikalta vasta klo 23 illalla. Muistoissa edelleen ilotulitukset Ruususen linnan yllä ja mahtipontinen Fantasmic-musikaali.

To wake up very early in the morning had usually something to do with a longer day trip hiking at the national parks. But this time it was pure amusement: Mickey and Donald at Disneyland in Anaheim. We arrived at the gates at 7.30 a.m. and were already in the Indiana Jones Adventure ride (probably the best ride at the park) at 8 o'clock. Later that evening there were long lines to wait for getting in to the popular rides so it was good to be there early. 

Disneyland was about having fun and had quite good rides. The best thing was to hear the familiar songs from some evergreen cartoons and the live shows. Food was expensive and simple (bring your own food) yet we spend the whole day at the park leaving at 11 p.m. I still remember the fireworks over the Sleeping Beauty Castle and the spectacular Fantasmic musical.
